KSrelief Signs Cooperation Agreement to Establish, Equip Diagnostic Medical Center in Sudan

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) yesterday signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to establish and equip a diagnostic medical center in Port Sudan, Sudan. The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Advisor to the Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor General Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah and UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner. The agreement, worth $1.451,000, is scheduled to benefit 1,985,485 individuals and was signed on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The agreement was signed by Dr. Hana Omar, director of the Partnerships and International Relations Department at KSrelief, and Abdullah Al-Dardari, UNDP Assistant Secretary General and Director of the regional office for Arab states. Under the agreement, the Port Sudan Diagnostic Center will be rehabilitated, and an MRI machine will be purchased and installed. The aim is to enhance the population's ability to access rapi d medical imaging services at an affordable cost. This agreement is part of a series of humanitarian and relief projects and programs by KSrelief aimed at improving the capacity of the healthcare sector in needy countries. Source: Saudi Press Agency
