Moscow, Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, asserted the importance of rebuilding and restoring the economic infrastructure in Syria as soon as possible.
Lavrov’s remarks came at the closing session of the joint ministerial meeting on Russia-GCC strategic dialogue.
“We asserted our adherence for the return of Syria to the League of Arab States and we see this is a necessity for our partners at the Gulf states”, Lavrov said.
He stressed the need to combat terrorism, saying “It is not allowed for a group of states to dominate the international arena, and Russia is not against NATO or the European Union but rather it is with implementing the Security Council resolutions agreed by all its permanent members.”
