Lebanese Army Commander, UN Official Discuss Situation in Lebanon, Region

Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun met Friday with visiting Assistant Director of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees for Protection Ruvendrini Menekidiwela . A statement issued by the Lebanese Army said that the meeting discussed developments in Lebanon and the region. The Israeli army has escalated its airstrikes and artillery shelling on towns and villages in southern Lebanon, causing dozens of deaths and injuries and forcing residents to flee these areas amid ongoing Israeli threats to expand the scope of these attacks.
