Maktoum Bin Mohammed and Luxembourg’s Finance Minister Discuss Bilateral Financial Cooperation

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, today met with Gilles Roth, Minister of Finance of Luxembourg, at the offices of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) in One Za'abeel. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the UAE and Luxembourg in finance, trade, innovation, education, and emerging technologies.

According to Emirates News Agency, the discussions emphasized advancing bilateral ties through enhanced cross-border investment, digital finance linkages, and fintech collaboration. The UAE's financial infrastructure and regulatory environment were highlighted as key strengths for Luxembourg-based firms seeking expansion. Additionally, the UAE's role as a strategic gateway to international markets was underscored.

The meeting examined existing bilateral frameworks and initiatives aimed at deepening financial sector cooperation. Opportunities for collaboration in sustainable finance and financial innovation were explored. Discussions also included strengthening institutional ties between sovereign wealth funds and financial centres in both countries.

The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, and Essa Kazim.
