Maktoum bin Mohammed Engages with CVC Capital Partners CEO on Financial Sector Growth

Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), met today with Rob Lucas, CEO of CVC Capital Partners PLC, a leader in private equity.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on exploring new avenues for collaboration to boost the financial services sector in the UAE and the surrounding regions. Discussions highlighted Dubai's emergence as a global financial hub, emphasizing its infrastructure, investor-friendly policies, and regulatory environment as key factors that enable private equity firms like CVC Capital Partners to enhance their regional and global presence.

H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed underscored Dubai's strategic goal to become one of the world's top four financial centers. This objective is part of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to increase the stock market's combined value to AED3 trillion and strengthen its capital markets ecosystem.

The meeting was also attended by Mohamed bin Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; and Essa Kazim, Governor of the Dubai International Financial Centre.
