Mansour Bin Zayed Establishes Specialised Court for Human Trafficking Crimes in Abu Dhabi

Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, has issued Resolution No. 40 of 2026, establishing a specialised court dedicated to adjudicating human trafficking crimes in Abu Dhabi.

According to Emirates News Agency, the establishment of this court is a part of ongoing efforts to enhance the judicial system by providing high standards of justice promptly. This initiative represents a significant advancement in legal protection mechanisms aimed at safeguarding human dignity and rights.

Aligned with the principle of comprehensive judicial specialisation, the court introduces an integrated procedural framework within its organisational structure. This framework includes a specialised Public Prosecution responsible for investigating and prosecuting human trafficking crimes, and extends jurisdiction to Courts of First Instance and Courts of Appeal for these crimes.

The framework aims to improve the efficiency of judicial procedures and expedite the adjudication of cases. To unify and strengthen the protection framework, the court will have jurisdiction over all human trafficking cases in Abu Dhabi. Existing courts handling such cases will be required to transfer them to the newly established court, unless pleadings have concluded, ensuring these cases are managed within a specialised framework.

The undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department will issue the necessary decisions to effectively implement the resolution and ensure the court's efficient jurisdiction exercise.
