Abu Dhabi: Three people were killed and three others were wounded in a shooting in northeastern Virginia on Tuesday evening, and one or more shooters remain at large, authorities said.
According to Emirates News Agency, the incident occurred at approximately 5:30 pm when 911 calls reported a shooting at a townhouse complex in Spotsylvania County, located just outside Fredericksburg and about 65 miles southwest of Washington. Maj. Elizabeth Scott, spokesperson for the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office, confirmed these details in a statement.
Authorities have urged residents to avoid the area and advised those nearby to stay indoors as the investigation continues. Maj. Scott noted that the shooting might have involved multiple perpetrators, although no arrests have been made, and no motive has been disclosed to the public.
The three individuals who were wounded have been transported to local hospitals with gunshot injuries. Details regarding their conditions and identities have not yet been released.
