Mikdad receives credentials of Mr.Boubacar Diallo as non-resident ambassador of Mali to Syria

Damascus, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, received the credentials of Mr. Boubacar Diallo, as a non-resident, plenipotentiary and extraordinary ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Syria.

Both sides discussed during the meeting bilateral relations between Syria and Mali and means of enhancing them in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly peoples and countries.

Welcoming the appointment of Diallo as Mali’s new ambassador to Syria and wishing him success in performing his tasks in strengthening relations between the both countries and peoples, Mikdad stressed Syria’s keenness on promoting the best relations with Mali in particular and the African Union states in general.

Minister Mikdad affirmed the need to stand all united in the face of the old and new colonial forces, stressing the challenges facing Mali are similar to those facing Syria, mainly in terms of the illegitimate unilateral coercive measures imposed on the two counties and peoples as a punishment for their adherence to the sovereignty and independence.

Mikdad also condemned France’s intervention in Mali describing it as a “new attempt to restore the French hegemony and control over the African Union countries”, adding that France supported terrorists in Syria with money and weapons and encouraged the separatists; “that interference must stop in both countries “he underderlined.

Ambassador Diallo expressed his happiness at this designation, stressing Mali’s keenness to promote its relations with Syria and develop the bilateral cooperation in all fields.

The new ambassador also affirmed Mali’s support for Syria in its war on terrorism, asserting that what it is doing is for the sake of the region and the world as a whole, voicing appreciation that President Bashar al-Assad’s approach to supporting the independence and stances of the African Union countries has never stopped.
