The Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, visited Najran University yesterday. He was received by the university’s president, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Khudairi, and several university employees.
During a meeting with male and female students, the minister discussed training programs, the national strategy for the growth of industry and mining, and the diversification of the economy in light of Kingdom Vision 2030. He also highlighted the ministry’s efforts to develop the human element in order to achieve the goals of the human capabilities development strategy. The minister pointed out that the kingdom has many advantages, and discoveries of natural and mineral wealth.
The minister emphasised that the kingdom’s mineral wealth has seen a 90% increase, reaching approximately SAR9 trillion. The mining strategy aims to balance environmental preservation with high positive economic returns. He mentioned the Najran region as an example of a promising region with abundant mineral
resources, including gold, silver, and granite. The ministry is collaborating with the university to establish training programs for the private sector, which will help bridge the gap between academia and industry.
