Minister Of Labor: The Workers Segment Is A Support And A Key Factor In Supporting Our Movement Towards Providing The Service That Our People Need

The Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed Al-Asadi, affirmed that the national service government considers the workers segment as a support and a key factor in supporting our movement towards providing the service that our people need, pointing out that we in the Ministry of Labor are working to defend this segment and guarantee its rights.

Al-Asadi said, during his participation in a celebration on the occasion of International Labor Day, that the Ministry of Labor, through the Council of Ministers, the House of Representatives, and the Parliamentary Labor Committee, is working to move to pass the necessary legislation that preserves workers’ rights and provides them with their entitlements in this great country, indicating that there is a number of legislation referred to by the head of the General Federation of Trade Unions in Iraq, and we put it on the table of the Council of Ministers. The necessary discussions took place and it was referred to the House of Representatives.

He added: We have held a number of meetings on the future of the working class, its present and the future of its children, so that the retirement and worker guarantee law is an integrated law, which will certainly lead to this broad segment moving towards a future that guarantees a decent life and fulfills aspirations.

He explained, “The coming days will witness the announcement of this law after it took part in the discussions in coordination with the Parliamentary Work Committee, which was supposed to be the first International Workers’ Day of May for this year, the holiday and the announcement of the approval of this law, but it was delayed for a few days and will be announced in the coming days.”
