Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa Monday stressed the importance of productive projects carried out by charities in serving local communities and creating job opportunities. The ministry is seeking, through strengthening partnership and cooperation with the voluntary sector and supporting entrepreneurship and productivity, to draw up a plan to identify and classify associations to determine their effectiveness in implementing programs and goals according to objective criteria, Mustafa said during a visit to the Circassian Charity Association’s Productive Kitchen and Restaurant project. She urged associations to form coalitions between them to streamline their efforts and launch sustainable productive projects. The minister lauded the Circassian Charity’s programs, including the self-financing Productive Kitchen project, which provides services to the local community and creates jobs for women. Meanwhile, the Circassian Charity’s Samawer Restaurant hosted children from the Al-Hussein Social Foundation for Orphans, which is affiliated with the Social Development Ministry. Mustafa stressed the importance of community integration programs for orphaned children benefiting from care homes, through external activities and events that help develop their social skills and communication with the local community. Head of the Circassian Charity Mohammad Dagjouka gave a briefing on key programs carried out by the association to empower women in the social, economic and cultural domains, develop existing productive projects and launch new projects that employ women.
