The Director of the European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdul Rahman Khamada, expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the Head of the EU Border Assistance Mission in Libya (EUBAM), Natalina Chea, throughout her term as head of the mission. In a remark at the ceremony organized by the Ministry for Cea in Tripoli on the occasion of the end of her work in Libya, Khamada said that the mission, during Cea's presidency, cooperated with Libya's authorities to provide technical and logistical support within the framework of combating illegal migration and cross-border organized crime. The ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors and charge d'affaires of EU countries accredited to Libya, a number of officials from the Ministries of Interior and Defense, and representatives of security authorities concerned with border security and management in Libya. The authority explained in a report issued today that it destroyed in Hodeidah Governorate, in cooperation with customs, the Violations Prosecution, the Cleaning Fund, the Public Works and Roads Office branch in the governorate, the Agriculture Office branch in the port, and the security authorities, 2,700 cartons of whole boneless chicken due to the presence of blood on the floor of the container as a result of fluctuations in freezing temperatures and the emission of an unpleasant odor from the product. The report indicated that 3,788 cartons of guava drink were destroyed at Al-Rahida Control Center, in cooperation with customs and security authorities, due to the presence of swelling and a fermenting smell in the containers, as well as a quantity of cake filled with cream, due to the presence of apparent mold o n the product. He pointed out that at the Afar port, a quantity of 195 cartons were destroyed and various food and industrial materials were expelled in violation of the approved standard specifications in terms of the expiration of the expiration period for some products that are prohibited from being imported according to Prime Minister's Decision No. 18 of 2002 AD and No. 3 of 2012 AD, while others were written on them the Israeli flag, the American flag, and slogans that contradict Islamic doctrine and morals. The communication indicated that the process of seizure and destruction was carried out in accordance with legal procedures and the tasks assigned to the authority to prevent the entry of any products that violate the specifications in order to preserve the health and safety of the citizen. The communication confirmed that the Authority is working in coordination with customs, security services and concerned authorities to tighten procedures at ports and control centers to prevent the smuggling o f any prohibited or adulterated goods or goods that violate the approved specifications and standards and are unfit for use. The communication called on everyone to cooperate with the Authority in a way that contributes to achieving protection for the homeland and citizens from adulterated, smuggled and unusable goods, stressing that the Authority cannot tolerate the entry of products that do not conform to the approved standard specifications.
