Ministry of Social Affairs signs a memorandum of understanding with the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services.


The GNU Minister of Social Affairs, Wafaa Al-Kilani, signed yesterday in Ankara a memorandum of understanding with the Turkish Minister of Family and Social Service, Mahinur Goktas, to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the area of social services and family.

The website of the Ministry of Social stated that signing this memorandum came after a bilateral meeting in which the two sides discussed aspects of future cooperation and developed a practical program to implement the provisions of the memorandum, in addition to exchanging views about social issues related to family, people with disabilities, and the elderly.

Al-Kilani thanked Turkey for its humanitarian position toward Derna’s disaster, presenting an overview of the ministry and the laws in force in particular, in addition to the grants and initiatives provided to the family in general and the people with disabilities in particular with the support of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, including the wife and chi
ldren grant, by activating Law No. 27 of 2013 for the third year.

Al-Kilani invited Goktas to participate in the Productive Family Exhibition, which the Ministry intends to hold in the middle of this year in Tripoli.

The Turkish Minister stressed the importance of working together to enhance the family structure and protect it from global threats and restrictions that harm the concept of the family institution.
