Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, attended the 2026 Emirates Super Saturday at the Meydan Racecourse. The event, known for its thrilling races and competitive spirit, serves as a precursor to the 30th edition of the Dubai World Cup scheduled for March 28. According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed emphasized Dubai's significant role in global horse racing and expressed pride in welcoming top-tier horses, owners, jockeys, and trainers worldwide. He highlighted the continuous efforts to enhance Dubai's reputation as an equestrian sport hub. H.H. Sheikh Mohammed was joined by Sheikh Rashed bin Dalmook bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Racing Club. Emirates Super Saturday, acting as the official rehearsal for the Dubai World Cup, featured a nine-race card with total prizemoney of AED10.3 million, attracting around 100 horses. The G2 Al Maktoum Classic, sponsored by Emirates Airline, showcased Meydaan's victory und er jockey William Buick. Walk Of Stars secured second place with jockey Mickael Barzalona. In the G2 Singspiel Stakes, Quddwah, owned by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, triumphed over Dividend. The G2 Dubai City of Gold saw Rebel's Romance claim victory for Godolphin under jockey William Buick, while Fort George followed in second. The evening began with the G1 Al Maktoum Challenge, where Falaah, guided by Al Moatasem Al Balushi, clinched the win. The G3 Burj Nahar witnessed Commissioner King emerge victorious over The Camden Colt. Piana dominated the Listed Jumeirah 1000 Guineas, showcasing her prowess under jockey Stephane Pasquier. Native Approach impressed in the G3 Nad Al Sheba Turf Sprint, securing a win for owner Hamdan bin Harmash. El Naseeb delivered a remarkable performance in the G3 Mahab Al Shimaal, with Silvestre De Sousa steering the victory for trainer Musabbeh Al Mheiri. The final race, the Listed Jumeirah 2000 Guineas, saw Title Role proving unbeatable under jockey Ryan Moore, lea ving Pacific Avenue in second place.
