MoHAP showcases Alhosn App’s latest updates at Arab Health 2024


DUBAI: The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has showcased the latest updates introduced to the national digital health application “Alhosn” during its participation in Arab Health 2024 at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 29th January to 1st February, 2024.

The updates were made as part of MoHAP’s ongoing efforts to enhance and modernise the UAE’s health system, specifically in communicable disease prevention.

The ministry outlined that the recently upgraded “Alhosn” App now offers new features, including vaccination data for children from birth to 18 years.

MoHAP clarified that the latest version of the “Alhosn” App has become the nation’s digital health platform for vaccinations. It aims to reinforce commitment to the National Immunisation Programme and achieve strategic objectives related to childhood vaccination coverage through proactive preventive measures underpinned by cutting-edge digital technologies.

The ministry emphasised that the upgraded app offers innovative digital solutions, ena
bling community members to effortlessly monitor their vaccination status in line with the National Immunisation Programme. It simplifies the process of reviewing personal health records, grants access to accurate and reliable information, and allows for the generation of an electronic vaccination card adhering to national standards.

A key feature of this app is its user-friendly interface, meticulously developed in line with industry best practices, ensuring ease of use for all individuals. The ministry noted that these features, supported by the national cloud infrastructure, are a collaborative achievement with Riayati, the digital healthcare platform for the National Unified Medical Record (NUMR).

Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Under-Secretary for the Public Health Sector, said, “The recent upgrade of the Alhosn App marks a significant milestone in the digital transformation journey of our health system. This update, particularly the feature enabling access to children’s vaccination records
within the National Immunisation Programme, represents a pivotal step in the smart evolution of health services.’

‘It is part of an overarching strategy to leverage modern technologies and smart applications, reflecting the government’s commitment to enhancing communication with community members to ensure better health coverage and maintain high vaccination rates, which are critical in preventing communicable diseases. Furthermore, the update is crucial in safeguarding children’s health and bolstering community-wide herd immunity,” Al Rand added.

Dr. Laila Al-Jasmi, Head of the Immunisation Department at the Ministry, said, “The significant update to the Alhosn App is the result of our ongoing efforts to fortify the health system and combat communicable diseases through cutting-edge digital technology.’

“We will spare no effort to enhance the quality of healthcare services offered for children in the country. The app’s new features make it easier for parents to track the necessary vaccinations for their k
ids and check their records effortlessly through a user-friendly digital interface. We encourage all families to download the application and utilise this opportunity to improve their children’s healthcare,” Al-Jasmi noted.

Alhosn App plays a central role in the national health system, functioning as a key technical enabler within the community. It offers a digital platform specifically designed for managing vaccinations. The development of Alhosn was a collaborative effort between MoHAP and local health authorities.

The app ensures a seamless user experience through advanced technology and offers up-to-date information on a broad spectrum of vaccinations, all readily accessible. Moreover, Alhosn maintains a comprehensive record of each user’s vaccinations and provides a secure method for sharing this data with relevant authorities.
