Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Interior, represented by the International Cooperation Department, participated in the Global Anti-Scam Summit America, held in San Francisco, US. This participation marks the Ministry's ongoing commitment as a strategic founding member of the Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA).
According to Emirates News Agency, the summit served as a platform for decision-makers, specialists, government officials, law enforcement agencies, and representatives from various sectors, including financial services, technology, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and civil society, to convene. The central discussions revolved around international cooperation, exchanging expertise, and implementing practical, sustainable measures to combat fraud in its various forms.
During the summit, Lieutenant-Colonel Saeed Khalfan Al Kaabi, Director of the International Cooperation Department and a member of the GASA Advisory Council, addressed global efforts to combat fraud. He highlighted the Ministry's collaboration with international partners and its support for joint action against fraud and other crimes. Al Kaabi emphasized that digital transformation and new technologies have significantly altered the nature of fraud, making these crimes more complex, organized, and transnational.
In his address, Al Kaabi stressed the importance of security measures evolving in tandem with the changing landscape of fraud. He stated that under the directives of the UAE's leadership, the Ministry prioritizes the protection of society and the preservation of security and stability. This includes efforts such as exchanging information, improving early-warning and rapid-response procedures, and utilizing modern technology and artificial intelligence to analyze criminal patterns and preemptively identify fraud attempts.
Al Kaabi concluded by reaffirming the Ministry's commitment to supporting international efforts against fraud and transnational crime, with the aim of safeguarding communities and economies and enhancing the safety of the digital environment.
