Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, officially inaugurated the Mediclinic Hospitals Cancer Centres Annual Congress in Abu Dhabi. Organised with support from the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, the event saw participation from healthcare professionals, ambassadors, and diplomatic figures from around the world.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Nahyan expressed his delight at the convening of the annual cancer congress, highlighting its mission to bring the latest research, knowledge, and best practices in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment to the region. He praised Mediclinic Middle East for assembling a distinguished group of regional and international experts and thanked participants for their contributions.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the importance of mutual learning and staying updated on advancements in cancer care. He noted that the conference reflects the UAE’s commitment to advancing public health and developing world-class healthcare services under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.
The conference, now in its fourth edition, brought together local and international cancer experts to discuss advancements in oncology care and research. It aimed to enhance collaboration in cancer prevention and early detection, focusing on improving clinical outcomes for patients.
Hein van Eck, CEO of Mediclinic Middle East, expressed gratitude for Sheikh Nahyan’s support and highlighted Mediclinic’s role in offering specialised cancer care through its centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. He emphasized the importance of the congress in keeping participants informed about the latest developments in cancer treatment.
