Riyadh, The scientific symposium “Alternative Punishments to freedom-depriving punishments” will kick off on Tuesday, organized by the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS) in cooperation with the Presidency of the Moroccan Public Prosecution and with the support of the United Nations Children’s Fund “UNICEF” in the presence of more than 140 specialists in the fields of justice, justice and police services in Arab countries.
The symposium, which will continue until June 30, is being framed by a group of distinguished experts from Arab and European countries, with experts from 12 Arab countries participating including Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Egypt, Sudan, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia, in addition to judges and specialists from France, where the participants will be reviewing Arab experiences in the application of alternative punishments, and future aspirations to create an appropriate legislative environment.
The participants will also discuss trade relations of some Arab countries in this direction, including the Bahraini experience in developing and applying the Penal Code and Measures will be presented, the Jordanian experience, “The Legal Framework for Alternative Punishments in Jordanian Legislation”, “Alternative Punishments in the Tunisian Legislative System”, as well as “Alternative Punishments in Omani Legislation”, and “Alternatives to freedom-depriving punishments for Juveniles in Moroccan Judicial Practice.”
