Nepalese Villagers Advised to Evacuate After Landslide-Induced Flooding

Gorkha:Nepali authorities have urged residents to relocate to safer areas following a landslide in the central region of the country that led to significant flooding, though no casualties have been reported.

According to Emirates News Agency, the landslide occurred in Chumnubri village in the Gorkha district, approximately 100 kilometers west of Kathmandu. This event blocked the Budhi Gandaki River, resulting in downstream flooding.

The flooding has swept away around a dozen houses, two suspension bridges, and a highway bridge that connects Gorkha with the neighboring Dhading district. Additionally, a hydroelectric project camp sustained damage due to the flooding.
