New york: Nine countries, including the United States, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan, and Trkiye, have issued a joint statement urging the UN Security Council to swiftly adopt a US resolution endorsing President Donald Trump’s peace plan for Gaza.
According to Emirates News Agency, the joint statement expressed the collective support of these nations for the Security Council Resolution currently under consideration. The countries emphasized the need for the resolution’s “swift adoption” as a step towards peace and stability in the region.
The statement highlighted the meeting held by the signatory countries during the High-Level Week at the United Nations, which aimed to launch this peace process. This initiative is described as a pathway towards Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state, offering a viable path toward broader regional peace.
In reiterating their commitment, the countries involved stressed that the initiative provides a realistic roadmap to achieving peace, not only between Palestinians and Israelis but across the region as a whole.
