Norland and Brent praise Dabaiba for submitting the names of his representatives in the preparatory talks that Batili proposes to hold to resolve the political issues hindering the elections and the formation of a unified national government.


The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdel Hamid Dabaiba, met today, Thursday, with the American Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Noland, and the Chargé d’Affaires of the American Embassy, Brent.

Norland said in a tweet published on the American Embassy’s account on the X platform, ‘I thanked Prime Minister Dabaiba for our fruitful discussion about the importance of making rapid progress towards the elections as we approach the second anniversary of the postponement of the elections that were scheduled to be held on December 24, 2021.’ He added, “Brent and I praised the Prime Minister for submitting the names of representatives who will participate in the preparatory talks that the Special Representative of the Secretary-General Batili proposes to hold to resolve the remaining political issues impeding the elections and the formation of a unified national government”.
