The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced Monday that one person was killed and two others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on southern Lebanon. The Ministry's Public Health Emergency Operations Center said in a statement that the Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Houla, killing one person and wounding two others who were transferred to the hospital for treatment. In a related development, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that the outskirts of the towns of Wadi Hassan and Sheheen were subjected to Israeli artillery shelling. The Israeli army escalated its air and artillery bombardment of towns and villages in southern Lebanon, coinciding with its aggression on the Gaza Strip that has been ongoing since October 2023, causing deaths, injuries and material damage to many residents' properties.
