Abu Dhabi: The Organising Committee of the Global Media Congress conducted a media briefing to present updates on the third edition of the event, which is under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court. The Congress is scheduled for 26th to 28th November and will feature key decision-makers, media industry leaders, experts, and influencers globally.
According to Emirates News Agency, the media briefing was attended by Dr Jamal Al Kaabi, Acting Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM) and Chairman of the Organising Committee for the Global Media Congress (GMC), and Saeed Al Shamsi, Chief Human Capital Officer at ADNEC Group. The briefing covered preparations for the 2024 Global Media Congress under the theme ‘Shaping Future Media.’ The event aims to deliver an exceptional edition of this anticipated media gathering.

orting and promoting national events, conveying cultural, humanitarian, and developmental messages globally. Dr Jamal Al Kaabi discussed updates on the Congress and its focus areas: The Business of Media, Content is King, and Digital Disruption. These areas aim to enhance communication and collaboration within the media landscape.
Dr Al Kaabi emphasized the UAE’s leadership’s commitment to a well-informed media, establishing the nation as a leading media destination. He noted the Congress’s objectives to highlight global media transformations, foster impactful partnerships, drive innovation, and enhance media’s role in community building. The event aims to set benchmarks for media excellence by offering insights into sustainable media practices.
Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, stated that the Congress strengthens the national media framework and maximises the use of new media technologies, particularly artificial intelligence (AI). He added that the event provides a
platform for international dialogue, collaboration, and discussions on industry developments, offering media professionals opportunities to explore challenges and trends.
The Congress will feature innovative media labs addressing pressing issues in the global media sector. Over three days, training workshops will develop talent, focusing on sustainability, sports broadcasting, AI, and new technology. More than 25 workshops conducted by experts will enhance skills and build capacities, with over 40 participants per session.
The expanded programme for this year’s Congress includes discussions with key committee members, reinforcing its role as a platform for collaboration and thought leadership. The event will span 37,000 square metres, featuring 180 exhibiting companies and brands, with a target of attracting over 30,000 visitors worldwide. Various sessions, exhibitions, and networking spaces will be included.
