Pakistani Prime Minister Receives MWL Secretary General


Makkah, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan welcomed the Secretary-General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), and Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, at his office in Islamabad today.

Al-Issa, currently visiting Pakistan in response to an official invitation, engaged in discussions on common interests, particularly those pertaining to Islamic endeavors.

Sharif praised the association’s efforts and initiatives in gathering the word of scholars, the most recent of which was the international conference held under the title: ‘Building Bridges Between Islamic Sects,’ which was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, stressing in this context that Pakistan attaches utmost importance to its strong fraternal relations with the Kingdom, which derive their roots from common faith and Islamic values. He praised the p
rominent efforts of the International Association in clarifying the facts of Islam and confronting the practices and rhetoric of Islamophobia, stressing his country’s continued support for the association in all its efforts, inside and outside Pakistan.
