Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met on Monday with Special Envoy of the Russian Foreign Minister Vladimir Safronkov for the Middle East Vladimir Safronkov, who is visiting Ramallah. The meeting discussed the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the efforts made to stop the war of genocide against the Palestinian people. The Palestinian President stressed the need to stop the Israeli aggression immediately, deliver humanitarian aid to the entire Gaza Strip, complete Israeli withdrawal from the Strip, stop Israeli attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and release Palestinian clearing funds. He called for the implementation of a political solution in accordance with the two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions, stressing the importance of Russian support for the State of Palestine to gain full membership in the United Nations. In turn, the Russian Envoy emphasized Russia's firm positions toward the Palestinian cause and support for the rights of the Palestinian people to independence.
