The Prime Minister and President of the Supreme Council for Higher Education, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, inaugurated on Saturday the new academic year at the University of Science and Technology in the capital Sana’a.
In his speech at the inauguration, the Prime Minister affirmed that this university is one of the academic institutions whose experience has been established and is still ongoing at the academic, scientific, and cultural levels.
He pointed out that the University presents a distinguished model for universities in preserving academic and scientific traditions. He appreciated the role of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, his deputy, and all officials in the ministry in supporting higher education institutions.
The Prime Minister said, “We fought the resistance against the aggression with almost non-existent capabilities, and we achieved victory. We are heading today, as state institutions, to translate the directives of the leader of the revolution to follow the steps of building and correcting, focusing on education and its development, reforming the judiciary, and achieving its role in achieving rights and redressing the oppressed.”
He pointed out that the renaissance of societies can only come through education as the main basis for bringing about development, and based on that, the revolutionary leadership and the political council would focus on education and justice.
Dr. bin Habtoor added, “We record these remarks as general indicators that we seek to turn them into tangible results befitting the victory achieved for our people, who have borne all these burdens throughout the past years of aggression and siege. We are facing an important stage in which we will focus on pivotal issues.”
He stated that the political solution for Sana’a is clear and announced, in which we focus on providing employee salaries, ending the policy of impoverishing citizens pursued by the aggression, and stopping the collapse of the national currency, which caused the terrible collapse of the living and service situation in the governorates, regions, and islands under occupation.
