PowerChina Eyes Expansion in Middle East’s Renewable Energy Sector

Abu Dhabi: Jin Huibin, Country Representative and Commercial Manager of PowerChina, has reaffirmed the company's commitment to expanding its operations and increasing investments in the renewable energy sector across the Middle East. He emphasized the region's wealth of large-scale projects and major investment opportunities, particularly in the Gulf countries.

According to Emirates News Agency, Jin made these remarks during his participation in the World Future Energy Summit, a part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. He highlighted that the UAE and the broader Gulf region are strategic markets for PowerChina, thanks to an open investment environment that offers substantial opportunities for global companies to contribute to the development of clean energy.

Jin pointed out that PowerChina ranks among the world's top 500 companies in the Fortune Global 500 list and is recognized as one of the six largest construction companies globally, as per ENR's Global Contractors rankings. Regarding PowerChina's plans in the UAE, Jin noted that the company is working on future projects with partners such as Masdar and EDF to enhance clean energy solutions. He explained that these initiatives align with the UAE's vision of increasing the use of renewable energy and reducing emissions, positioning PowerChina as a key partner in achieving national sustainability goals.

Jin further elaborated on the company's focus on supporting the transition to clean energy in the region through large-scale projects, including the establishment of solar power plants and other initiatives. He mentioned that PowerChina had previously signed several agreements in the region, including a 1.5 GW solar energy project in the UAE.
