HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani met with Member of the International Olympic Committee Samira Asghari, on the sidelines of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Asghari is actively promoting sports among Afghan women, having had an inspiring journey from refugee to international basketball player and then the youngest member of the International Olympic Committee. HE President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, also participated in the reception ceremony for the Bahrain team participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The ceremony was attended by HE Second Vice President of the Qatar Olympic Committee Dr. Thani Al Kuwari and HE Secretary-General Jassim bin Rashid Al Buainain. The event celebrated the Kingdom of Bahrains participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and highlighted the importance of unity and cooperation among GCC countries in promoting sportsmanship and excellence at the international level.
