President’s Visit to Germany Marks Milestone in UAE-German Relations

Abu dhabi: Ahmed Al Attar, UAE Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, emphasized that the state visit of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Germany signifies a pivotal moment in UAE-German relations, paving the way for enhanced bilateral cooperation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the partnership between the UAE and Germany has been steadily growing since 1972. The Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in 2004 laid a foundation for further collaboration, which has been strengthened over the years. The economic relationship between the two countries is reflected in the non-oil trade figures, which reached US$15.56 billion in 2025, marking a 14.6% increase from 2024.

Al Attar highlighted that the UAE-German partnership is not limited to trade. Both countries are increasingly focusing on future-oriented sectors such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, and advanced technologies. Germany's industrial and research expertise, combined with the UAE's strategic location and investment ecosystem, creates opportunities for new investments and innovative projects. This integration offers broader prospects for startups and young talent in both nations.

The visit underscores a mutual commitment to transforming cooperation opportunities into tangible projects, aiming for a more prosperous future. In the energy sector, collaboration prospects are expanding, particularly in renewable energy and climate technologies, supporting energy security and sustainability goals. The UAE-German relationship is built on trust and a shared vision for a promising future for both countries and their populations.
