Princess Alia Foundation, Yarmouk University Forge Partnership for Women’s Development

Irbid: Her Royal Highness Princess Alia bint Al Hussein, Executive Director of the Princess Alia Foundation, and President of Yarmouk University Islam Massad, signed a memorandum of understanding on Wednesday aimed at achieving sustainable development and enhancing societal responsibility, particularly on issues related to women.

Under the memorandum, the foundation is granted access to the university’s facilities, human resources, and expertise from educational staff. This collaboration will facilitate the implementation of activities and programs targeting female students, fostering their development and providing valuable experiences.

The agreement also entails the foundation receiving information on female students interested in volunteering or participating in the foundation’s programs. Furthermore, the university will promote the foundation’s initiatives to its students and staff.

In joint efforts, the two entities will collaborate on policy papers, organize events, training programs, and awareness l
ectures across various societal fields. They aim to build a network of partners with shared interests.

The memorandum outlines the sharing of expertise by the Princess Alia Foundation with Yarmouk University to formulate development projects and secure funding for joint endeavors. The foundation will also actively participate in the university’s initiatives, offering expertise, knowledge, and logistical support during joint activities. Additionally, the foundation will provide specialized training to enhance the capabilities of university staff in mutually relevant areas.

Princess Alia emphasized the significance of cooperation with Yarmouk University, recognizing it as a distinguished institution with a history of scientific leadership and community service. She underscored the memorandum’s importance in various fields, particularly concerning women, sustainable job opportunities, and the environment.

She emphasized the Princess Alia Foundation’s mission of exerting a positive influence in civil society a
nd partnerships, fostering charitable work, and promoting social responsibility.

Massad highlighted Yarmouk University’s commitment to expanding its network of relationships with national institutions engaged in social and community service. He praised the Princess Alia Foundation for its leading role in women’s issues, social and volunteer work. The memorandum, he said, holds great importance in achieving collaborative goals benefiting Jordanian society and its people.

Massad expressed the university’s readiness to leverage its capabilities and the expertise of its faculty in supporting the Princess Alia Foundation’s goals, programs, and activities.

He emphasized that this role aligns with the university’s commitment, including contributions from various faculties and scientific centers, such as the Princess Basma Center for Jordanian Women’s Studies.
