Doha, August 03 (QNA) - Qatar SC announced Saturday the signing of Brazilian midfielder Carlos Vinicius "Carlinhos" from Portimonense of Portugal. Carlinhos, 30, has previously played for several clubs, including Standard Liege in Belgium, Estoril Praia in Portugal, and Vasco da Gama in Brazil, before joining Portimonense. This signing marks Qatar SC's first acquisition in the current summer transfer window. The club has also renewed its contract with Spanish player Javi Martinez and decided to retain Moroccan defender Badr Banoun and Congolese striker Ben Malango. Meanwhile, Ivorian player Yohan Boli has left the club following the end of his contract. Qatar SC held its preseason training camp in Spain, where the team played several friendly matches. Under the leadership of coach Youssef Al Noubi, the team will kick off its campaign in the new Qatari league season against Al Duhail on August 10 at Khalifa International Stadium.
