RAK Ruler Exempts Emirati Fishermen from Financial Dues Until 2026

Ras al khaimah: H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, has announced that Emirati fishermen in Ras Al Khaimah will be exempted from financial obligations until the end of 2026. This directive is aimed at supporting fishermen, enhancing the stability of Emirati families, and preserving the nation's traditional professions.

According to Emirates News Agency, this directive aligns with 2026 being designated as the 'Year of the Family' in the UAE. It underscores the vision of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah to empower citizens by laying the foundations for their social and economic stability. This initiative is expected to improve the quality of life for Emirati families and sustain vital sectors linked to national heritage.

Dr. Mohammed Yousef Mohammed Al Madfaei Al Hammadi, Director General of the Environment Protection and Development Authority in Ras Al Khaimah, confirmed that the initiative demonstrates the Ruler's commitment to supporting citizens and enhancing their living conditions. He mentioned that the exemption will alleviate financial burdens on Emirati fishermen, enabling them to continue their professional activities and develop their businesses, thereby boosting the sector's contribution to the local economy.
