Remarkable success for volleyball competition of 5th Labour Sports Tournament


DUBAI: The volleyball competition of the 5th Labour Sports Tournament concluded with distinctive participation of labourers of both genders.

Organised by the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) in collaboration with the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai, this Tournament embodies the theme “Their Happiness is Our Goal.”

Taking place until 13th March, participants will compete in 11 diverse sports, including basketball, football, road racing, arm wrestling, badminton, swimming, tug-of-war, yoga, cricket, and kabaddi.

In the men’s category of the volleyball competition, Ajmal Perfumes Co. won 1st place, followed by ENOC Co. in 2nd place and Al-Naboodah Co. in 3rd place. Millan Chand from Ajmal Perfumes gained the best player’s title, while Justin Sunny of ENOC Co. was honoured as the best-emerging player.

In the women’s category, ENOC Co. won 1st place, followed by Emrill Co. in 2nd place and Transguard Group Co. in 3rd place. The Ejada Co. Team was awarded as the ideal team, while Amilia Du Assis from E
NOC Co. secured the title of a best female player, and Sosamita Poudel from Emrill Co. was honoured as the best emerging female player.

Winners of the first three places, besides winners of the individual titles in the men’s category, were honoured with cups and medals by Abdulla Shukri, Secretary-General of the Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs in Dubai, and DSC’s representative, while winners in women’s category were honoured by Fatima Ahmed, General Coordinator of the Positive Soul Initiative in Dubai Police. Valuable prizes were also awarded to winning fans in sub-competitions held on the sideline of the volleyball competition.

The Tournament is taking place at ten different locations these are Jebel Ali, Al-Quoz, Al-Jeddaf, DP World, DUTCO, Dulsco, ENOC Residential Complex, Qusais, Muhaisna 4 and Al-Ghurair Residential Complex.

This Tournament embodies DSC’s commitment to creating a thriving and inclusive sports society where everyone can break the daily routine.
