Saeed Al Hajeri Engages in Strategic Dialogue with New Zealand Prime Minister

Auckland: Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State, engaged in a strategic dialogue with Christopher Luxon, Prime Minister of New Zealand, on the sidelines of an official visit to New Zealand and during his participation in the Fieldays event in Auckland. Fieldays is recognized as the largest agricultural and trade event in New Zealand and a leading exhibition for agricultural innovation and technology across the Asia-Pacific region.

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Hajeri conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, to Prime Minister Luxon. They extended their wishes for further progress and prosperity to the government and people of New Zealand. In response, Prime Minister Luxon sent his greetings to the UAE leaders, along with his wishes for continued progress and development for the leadership, government, and people of the UAE.

The meeting focused on discussing bilateral relations between the UAE and New Zealand, along with exploring ways to enhance cooperation in various fields under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in January 2025. Prime Minister Luxon reaffirmed New Zealand's commitment to developing ties continuously to serve the mutual interests of both countries and their peoples.

Additionally, both sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, emphasizing the significance of de-escalating regional tensions, particularly concerning ongoing Iranian threats. They underscored the importance of sustained diplomatic efforts to reinforce security and stability. The New Zealand delegation highlighted the necessity of intensifying international efforts to establish lasting peace and security in the region. Meanwhile, the UAE delegation expressed appreciation for New Zealand's supportive stance on regional stability.
