Safadi, Algerian envoy pledge support to Palestinians to restore legitimate rights

Lower House Speaker, Ahmed Safadi, said Jordan, under His Majesty King Abdullah II’s leadership, is making “remarkable” efforts to stop Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip. During his meeting Wednesday with Algerian ambassador to Jordan, Abdulkarim Behha, the two sides stressed importance of mobilizing an Arab and international parliamentary position to stop Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip. Safadi and Behha also noted Jordan and Algeria will support Palestinian people until they restore their legitimate rights on their national soli. The Algerian envoy delivered to Safadi a message from Speaker of the People’s National Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, which called for supporting the emergency clause proposed by Algerian parliament to criminalize desecrating sanctities and religious symbols, through Union of Councils of Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) intended to be held in Angola. Affirming support for the Algerian proposal, Safadi noted importance of coordinating joint parliamentary positions, to serve pan-Arab interests and issues, as joint relations, especially in parliamentary areas, were also discussed.
