Undersecretary of technical education and vocational training, Mohamed al-Saqqaf, on Wednesday discussed with UNESCO representative for Yemen and Arab Gulf, Salah Khaled, potential cooperation with the UN organization in technical education. The two sides showed interest to reach a national strategy that would improve this sector in accordance with local market's needs. The UNESCO official presented a mechanism for coordination with the ministry to hold a workshop to listen to relevant corporations on projects and programs in need for UNESCO support. The UNESCO prepares to implement an EU-funded programs to repair certain historic cities and buildings, he added, noting that the organization has plans to support traditional crafts in Yemen.
