ABU DHABI: Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), has received Hu Wenrong, Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Shanghai Committee, along with his accompanying delegation, who is on an official visit to the UAE. During the meeting, held today at the FNC headquarters in Abu Dhabi, discussions focused on ways to develop and enhance the existing bilateral relations between the UAE and the People's Republic of China, which are witnessing significant growth and progress across various fields. The meeting also emphasised the importance of coordination on a range of issues of mutual interest at regional and international forums. According to Emirates News Agency, Ghobash praised the depth of the UAE-China relations, particularly as the year 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which began in 1984. This milestone underscores the commitment of both nations to advancing their partnership acros s all fields, especially political, parliamentary, economic, cultural, educational, and investment sectors, as well as other key areas. Both countries seek to elevate these relations to broader and more ambitious levels within the framework of the strategic partnership agreement signed on 17th November 2012, aimed at strengthening bilateral ties across various domains, he added. A number of FNC members attended the meeting.
