Saqr Ghobash, Poland’s Marshal of Senate discuss cooperation

ABU DHABI, Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), discussed with Tomasz Grodzki, Marshal of the Senate of Poland, the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation and coordination on issues of mutual concern and ways of supporting joint parliamentary diplomacy, through mutual visits.

During a phone call, Ghobash said that the bilateral ties between the UAE and Poland, which began in 1988, have grown significantly, noting that the UAE is Poland’s leading economic partner in the Arab region.

The visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to Poland in 2015 has helped enhance the bilateral ties between the two friendly countries, he added, highlighting the FNC’s keenness to keep pace with the country’s work and visions covering several issues, most notably maintaining regional and international peace, security and stability.

The UAE’s foreign policy is based on promoting friendships and cooperation with other countries, as well as spreading the principles of mutual cooperation based on tolerance and coexistence, he further added.

The two sides also stressed the importance of the parliamentary relations between the FNC and the Polish Senate and highlighted the key role of parliaments in encouraging cooperation between countries.
