Saudi Arabia calls for intensifying cooperation efforts to ensure a more sustainable future for the tourism sector

Riyadh, Minister of Tourism Ahmed bin Aqeel Al-Khatib stressed the importance of boosting cooperation towards building a more sustainable future for the tourism sector in the G20 countries, facing the main challenges that resulted from the Corona pandemic, and collective action for the renaissance of the tourism sector, after the pandemic had cast a heavy shadow on the sector, reiterating the importance of partnerships between the public and private sectors, and cooperation in shaping the future of the sector.

This came during the G20 tourism ministers meeting for 2022 hosted by Indonesia, in which ministers from around the world participated under the slogan “Recover Together, Recover Stronger.”

Al-Khatib said, “The tourism industry has been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, and cooperation is needed to achieve recovery to build a better future and to create a sector that is more capable of providing wealth and opportunities in places where they are most needed.”
