The celebration featured various events, including exhibitions across the Kingdom. It also highlighted the Saudi naval fleet's contribution to facilitating international maritime traffic. This year's World Maritime Day theme, "Navigating the future: safety first!", emphasized the importance of safety standards in marine navigation. As a member state of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and a signatory to the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), Saudi Arabia plays a crucial role in establishing global safety standards for maritime operations. With its strategic location, Saudi Arabia is a key logistics hub and a gateway for trade between Asia, Africa, and Europe.
