Saudi Arabia through to AFC Asian Cup’s Round of 16


DOHA: The Saudi Arabian national football team qualified for the Round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup, which is currently being held in the Qatari capital, Doha, after defeating the Kyrgyz Republic national team 2-0 in a match that was held on Ahmed bin Ali Stadium, as part of the second round of Group F competitions.

With this win, the Saudi Arabian national team tallied 6 points, topping Group F, while the Kyrgyz Republic national team remains at the bottom of the Group with zero points.

Mohamed Kanno opened the scoring for the Saudi Arabia national team in the 35th minute, while Faisel Al-Ghamdi netted his country’s second in the 84th minute.

In the same group, the Oman and Thailand national teams drew 0-0 at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, raising Oman national team’s point talley to one, and Thailand’s to four.
