Saudi Arabia to Host 17?? Regional Conference for OIE Middle East Committee on Sunday

The 17th Regional Conference for the Middle East Committee of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) is scheduled in Riyadh next Sunday. The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plants and Animal Diseases is organizing the conference, which representatives from 20 countries will attend.

The conference will be attended by the organization’s member states in the Middle East, local and international animal health experts, various international organizations and relevant bodies.

During the five-day event, global animal health will be enhanced by analyzing member states’ regional epidemiological health situation, reviewing updates in the Aquatic Animal Health Code (AAHC), and collaborating with the “One Health” approach that integrates animal health, public health, and environmental protection services. Moreover, the event will discuss the latest developments in antibiotic microbial resistance.

The conference recommends measures to combat animal diseases and strengthen global veterinary capacity.
