Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Eng. Abdulrahman Alfadley and his accompanying delegation, who are on an official visit to Uruguay, held talks here today with Uruguay's Minister of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries Fernando Mattos Costa on cooperation in the agriculture, fisheries, and food security sectors. The two sides explored investment opportunities and ways to widen collaboration through the exchange of expertise and knowledge. Particular focus was placed on encouraging innovation and adopting modern technologies to increase the efficiency of agricultural production. Private sector representatives also attended the meeting. Relations between the two countries have progressed in various sectors; in August, the first meeting of the Saudi-Uruguayan Joint Committee took place in Montevideo. Source: Saudi Press Agency
