Brasilia, The Saudi delegation, headed by Deputy Governor of the Saudi General Authority for Foreign Trade for International Organizations and Agreements Fareed bin Saeed Al-Asaly, participated in the second meeting of the Trade and Investment Working Group (TIWG) held in Brasilia between April 24 and 25. Brazil’s presidency of the G20 discussed several priorities for TIWG, such as trade and sustainable development, women’s participation in international trade, sustainable development in investment agreements, and reforming the World Trade Organization through enhancing the multilateral trade system.
On the sidelines of the meetings, the secretariat of TWIG, in collaboration with the Business 20 (B20) Engagement Group, organized a workshop as part of the “Women in International Trade” initiative on April 23. Brazil’s presidency, through this initiative, aimed to identify the challenges facing women in international trade and called on member states to participate in proposing solutions and best practices to
minimize the impact of these challenges on women’s participation in international trade.
The Saudi General Authority for Foreign Trade seeks to enhance the Kingdom’s international trade gains, boost its international presence, and ensure its effective participation in various international organizations to achieve common goals and sustainable development.
