Saudi Press: US President’s visit to Kingdom

Riyadh, Saudi newspapers highlighted today in their editorials a number of issues at local and international arenas.

Al-Riyadh newspaper said that the first visit of US President Joe Biden to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is gaining momentum as it is his first visit to the region, and that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the first Arab country he visits and hosts the first Arab-American Summit of its kind, which comes in a delicate circumstance that must be dealt with according to consensual visions.

The paper noted that The Washington Post published an article by President Biden, titled “Why would I go to Saudi Arabia?” This is a few days before the visit, which will start tomorrow, saying “The Kingdom is one of the influential countries in the world, so his visit aims to strengthen and develop a strategic partnership based on the common interests and responsibilities between the two countries.”

The paper concluded that a number of bilateral, regional and global issues will be on the table during President Biden’s visit, and ways to expand economic, security and regional cooperation, including new and promising infrastructure, climate initiatives, and ensuring global energy and food security.
