Securing unmanned and autonomous systems ensures their sustainability: Al Kuwaiti


ABU DHABI: Dr. Mohamed Hamad Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council, stressed the importance of cybersecurity in securing unmanned and autonomous systems that rely on modern technologies, ensuring their sustainability, development, and safe performance.

In statements to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) on the sidelines of the UMEX and SimTEX exhibitions, he said that this international event reflects the UAE’s leading global position as a hub for unmanned systems and advanced technology.

He pointed out that the digital transformation that relies on artificial intelligence technologies has touched all sectors and contributes to improving the quality of life and supporting businesses, thereby promoting sustainable development towards a more advanced and prosperous future.

Dr. Al Kuwaiti lauded the wide local, international, and regional participation in this event, in addition to government and academic entities, highlighting the presence of students and their keenness to learn about the latest
technologies, which enhances the cybersecurity culture among institutions, users, developers, and designers, especially users of unmanned systems.

Dr. Al Kuwaiti said that the UAE Cyber Security Council’s participation in the exhibitions comes within the framework of its keenness to enhance cooperation with local, regional, and international entities concerned with cybersecurity, in addition to highlighting the security of unmanned systems and the artificial intelligence and modern technologies on which they rely.

The UMEX and SimTEX exhibitions are being organised by the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (ADNEC), in cooperation with the UAE Ministry of Defence, and take place until 25th January. The event provides a platform to discuss the latest developments, trends and innovations in the UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) sector.
