SEDD promotes entrepreneurship through national exhibition in Kalba


SHARJAH: The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) yesterday launched the National Entrepreneurship Exhibition in Kalba, as part of its efforts to promote national projects and the entrepreneurship sector in Sharjah.

Held from 31st January to 5th February, 2024, the exhibition was launched in the presence of Sheikh Haitham bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of the Office of the Ruler of Kalba, Hamad Ali Abdalla Al Mahmoud, SEDD Chairman, and several officials from the government sector in Kalba, and representatives of government agencies, institutions and sponsors of the event.

Featuring 70 exhibitors, the exhibition supports the national sector and commercial projects for entrepreneurs and empowered holders of ‘Eitimad’ domestic licences, which fall within SEDD’s strategic plans and objectives.

The exhibition aims to provide an integrated business platform for entrepreneurs and national projects with domestic or national commercial licences. The exhibition also seeks to highlight successful business
experiences and innovative projects that contribute to supporting the economic sector in Sharjah and motivate entrepreneurs to innovate by establishing their brands.

The SEDD Chairman said holding the exhibition is a pioneering step to activate the sector’s contribution to the emirate’s economic return. He added that this has happened due to the sound vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council, who encouraged citizens to enter the market and supported their businesses, initiatives, and ideas to attain success and sustainability.

He stressed that the exhibition allows SMEs to display their products and projects, promote them to raise the commercial level of their activities, and encourage local investment to achieve success and sustainability.

epartment at SEDD, pointed out that SEDD empowers citizens who own projects and SMEs to succeed in national entrepreneurship in various economic sectors.

Al Suwaidi also said that the exhibition enhances the culture of entrepreneurship, instils entrepreneurial thinking among young people, develops a generation of successful entrepreneurs, and provides them with the tools and knowledge that will help them enter the business world through innovative projects based on scientific foundations and strategies, where participants display their innovations and creativity in an interactive and competitive platform.
