Sharjah: The Sharjah Department of Municipalities Affairs has achieved a milestone with its initiative to catalog real estate properties, covering 2.8 million square meters as part of the “Aqari” platform launched by the Sharjah Digital Authority.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sultan Mohammed bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Department, emphasized the initiative’s significance in advancing the real estate sector through digital innovation. He noted that the project plays a crucial role in the ‘Aqari’ platform, focusing on the engineering aspects to create a comprehensive digital database of Sharjah’s real estate. This database will detail building sizes and specifications, aiding future planning and highlighting government inter-agency collaboration in Sharjah.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Department, described the initiative as a pivotal development in managing and utilizing real estate information. The team has successfully mapped over 1,300 projects, encompassing more than 42,000 property types, including residential, commercial, industrial, and service units across the emirate.
The project involves reorganizing building details to ensure compatibility with modern technology, such as artificial intelligence. This effort aims to automate real estate services in Sharjah, improving the quality and accuracy of property data region-wide.
