Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, the Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Sharjah Police Academy Board, presided over an important board meeting at the academy’s headquarters in University City. The meeting focused on key topics such as enhancing collaboration with universities and advancing cybersecurity concepts.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting also explored initiatives to integrate the metaverse into training and education frameworks. The board discussed mechanisms to attract talented individuals for specialized roles within the Sharjah Police General Command and the academy. This is aimed at ensuring the availability of skills necessary to achieve strategic goals and improve competitiveness indicators.
The board praised the academy’s efforts in achieving international accreditations for its study and training programs. It also acknowledged the recognition of certificates awarded by the academy, emphasizing its commitment to international
educational standards. The Competency Development Department’s achievements for 2024 were presented, showcasing successful training programs and professional accreditation milestones.
Additionally, the academy received international training centre accreditation in medical services and first aid. It also trained 900 teachers from the Sharjah Private Education Authority in first aid and conducted numerous training programs benefiting employees across various government entities.
The board approved the graduation ceremony date for PhD and Master’s students and endorsed academic promotions for faculty members. It reviewed a proposed amendment to align the Academy’s regulations with educational advancements and approved a request from the Dubai Civil Defence to reserve study seats for its members.
Statistics on enrolment numbers for the Academy’s programs were reviewed, showing an increase in interest, attributed to the quality of its study programs and accredited qualifications. The academy’s participation in
the 43rd Sharjah International Book Fair was also highlighted, showcasing publications on various modern topics.
The meeting included several key attendees, including Major General Abdullah Mubarak bin Amer, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, and other board members, who contributed to the discussions and future planning of the academy’s initiatives.
