Sharjah:His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, officially opened the new Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) building. The facility embodies the Academy's goal of offering a comprehensive academic environment that integrates learning, research, interaction, and professional development beyond traditional classroom settings.
According to Emirates News Agency, the building aims to deliver a human-centred educational experience, fostering innovation and collaboration. It is designed to prepare educational professionals who can influence the future of education.
Located in University City, the new building includes a variety of educational, research, and service facilities. These areas are dedicated to interaction and student activities, enhancing cooperation and communication among the academic community. The environment is inclusive, considering diversity and equal opportunities for all.
The facilities include student services, a Learning Resources Centre, and various administrative and support services. The Academy is also committed to providing a supportive learning environment for people with disabilities, with advanced security, safety systems, and technological infrastructure, including smart-building systems.
The initial phase features nine classrooms, each accommodating 25 students, and four training halls, each with a capacity of 75 students. These facilities collectively support 525 individuals. An inclusive hall is also available for lectures, workshops, and courses, promoting interaction and collaborative learning.
Plans for the second phase include additional development of the upper floor and the completion of campus infrastructure. This will involve an administrative building, a Board of Trustees hall, multipurpose and sports facilities, and a residential building. A studio for producing media content and a dedicated staff lounge will also be part of the future expansions, providing a cohesive working environment for the Academy community.
